Job summary

Air Transport Services Group, Inc. seeks a strategic Manager, Software Services to lead a team of developers maintaining ATSG's software solutions and building new applications for aviation operations.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
10+ years in application development, software engineering, integration, or software support.
5+ years leading developers, technical teams, or major initiatives, with strategic leadership.
Strong technical foundation with hands-on capability during outages or critical decisions.
Background in C#/.NET development and building custom business applications.
Experience modernizing legacy applications, interfaces, and integrations.
Strong SDLC, relational databases (SQL Server and Oracle), and APIs/data integration.
Proven ability to thrive in high ambiguity environments and create processes and tooling.
Ability to troubleshoot complex issues across applications, data, and vendors.
Excellent communication with stakeholders; manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

Lead and direct a team of developers, analysts, and contributors for mission-critical software.
Direct third-party vendors; manage SOWs, deliverables, and performance.
Set technical strategy across .NET, Power Apps, and custom delivery; guide architecture decisions.
Collaborate with data platform, security, and infrastructure teams on new platforms.
Develop processes and standards (secure SDLC, intake, release) and tooling.
Provide hands-on leadership during outages and complex design decisions.
Partner with business stakeholders to translate needs into solutions.
Ensure compliance with regulatory, logging, monitoring, and deployment standards.
Coach team, balance workloads, and reduce single points of failure.
Maintain portfolio visibility and prioritize modernization vs. debt.
