Job summary

Cisco Systems, Inc. is seeking a Software Quality Engineer in Fulton, MD or Austin, TX to own test areas and validate complex workflows across physical, virtual, and cloud environments.

You will combine hands-on testing, network-security expertise, and AI-assisted methods to identify risks before release. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years in software quality engineering or related.
• Experience with Python for test automation and tooling.
• Experience with Linux/Unix administration and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with generative AI tools to accelerate testing.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute risk-based test plans for Cisco Secure Firewall products and integrations.
• Validate end-to-end workflows across management, threat inspection, routing, NAT, VPN, logging, and policy deployment.
• Design, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot automated tests using Python-based frameworks.
• Create and maintain test environments with network devices, VMs, and cloud resources.
• Document defects with reproduction steps, evidence, and impact.
• Collaborate with software, platform, automation, and release teams throughout the lifecycle.
