Qualifications

Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer – Aviation

Location: Fort Worth, TX – Onsite Job Type: Contract – 12+ Months Industry: Aerospace / Aviation W2 Candidates Only | No C2C or Third-Party/ H1B

Job Overview We are seeking a Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer with strong experience in aviation/embedded software, software verification, and DO-178C compliance. The ideal candidate will have experience working independently within the software development lifecycle, reviewing software requirements and development artifacts, supporting certification activities, and ensuring compliance with DO-178C, RTCA, and applicable aerospace quality standards. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Software Quality, Software Verification, Software Assurance, or Avionics Quality Engineer with commercial or military aerospace experience.

Key Responsibilities

Perform independent Software Quality Assurance (SQA) activities throughout the software development lifecycle. Review and approve software requirements, design, source code, verification results, and other software artifacts. Ensure software development activities comply with DO-178C/DO-178B, RTCA, company procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements. Develop and review software quality and planning documentation, including PSAC, SDP, SVP, SCMP, and SQAP. Support software verification, validation, audits, compliance reviews, and certification activities. Review supplier software deliverables and ensure compliance with required quality and certification standards. Conduct or support supplier and internal quality audits. Work closely with Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Program Management, suppliers, and other cross-functional teams. Provide technical guidance regarding software quality processes, regulatory compliance, and certification requirements. Support both commercial and military aerospace programs.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field. Strong experience in Software Quality Assurance, Software Verification, Software Assurance, or Software V&V. Experience with embedded aviation/aerospace software development. Hands-on experience with DO-178C or DO-178B. Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and verification processes. Experience reviewing software requirements, design, code, testing, and verification artifacts. Experience with software quality documentation and certification processes. Experience working with RTCA standards and/or Software Tool Qualification (DO-330) is highly desirable. Experience in commercial aviation, military aviation, aerospace, or defense.
