Software Quality Assurance Engineer – Networking III
Hybrid role: work on average 2 days per week from an HPE office.
Responsibilities
- Design enhancements, updates, and programming changes for portions and subsystems of systems software, including operating systems, compilers, networking, utilities, databases, and Internet-related tools.
- Analyze design and determine coding, programming, and integration activities required based on overall architecture and product objectives.
- Write and execute complete testing plans, protocols, and documentation; identify, debug, and resolve code and integration issues.
- Lead a project team of software systems engineers and internal/outsourced partners to deliver reliable, cost‑effective, high‑quality solutions.
- Collaborate and communicate with management and development partners regarding design status, project progress, and issue resolution.
- Represent the software systems engineering team throughout larger, complex development projects.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to less‑experienced staff members.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
- Typically 4–6 years of relevant experience.
Knowledge & Skills
- Expertise in software systems testing methodology, including writing and executing test plans, debugging, and using testing scripts and tools.
- Strong scripting skills in Python and experience with software automation.
- Experience with multiple operating systems (Linux, Unix, Windows, etc.).
- Knowledge of network device management and deployment (routing, switching, firewalls).
- Familiarity with traffic generation/analysis tools such as IXIA or Spirent.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, mastery of English and local language.
- Ability to communicate product architectures, design proposals, and negotiate options at management levels.
