Software Quality Assurance Engineer – Networking II
Hybrid role – expected to work an average of two days per week from an HPE office.
About the Role
Design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug software for networking and related technologies. Work closely with internal and outsourced developers to deliver reliable, cost‑effective, high‑quality solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design limited enhancements, updates, and programming changes for portions and subsystems of systems software.
- Analyze design and determine coding, programming, and integration activities required based on objectives and project guidelines.
- Execute and write portions of testing plans, protocols, and documentation for assigned application parts, identify and debug issues with code, and suggest improvements.
- Participate as an engineering team member collaborating with internal and outsourced partners to develop reliable solutions for assigned subsystem.
- Collaborate and communicate with partners regarding software system design status, project progress, and issue resolution.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
- Typically 2–4 years of experience in software testing or development.
Knowledge & Skills
- Experience with software systems testing methodology, writing and executing test plans, debugging, and using test scripts and tools.
- Experience with software systems design tools and programming languages (preferably Python).
- Experience in software automation, preferably with Python.
- Experience working with multiple operating systems (Linux, Unix, Windows, etc.).
- Experience in network device management and deployment (routing, switching, firewall devices).
- Experience or understanding of traffic generation/analysis tools such as IXIA or Spirant.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; mastery of English and local language.
- Ability to effectively communicate design proposals and negotiate options.
