Job summary

Mojo Trek in Ann Arbor is seeking an experienced QA Automation Engineer to design, implement, and maintain automated test strategies for web applications. You will collaborate with developers to expand test coverage and ensure quality across CI/CD pipelines.

Requirements include a BS in CS, 7+ years of testing experience, 5+ years Java, and hands-on use of Cucumber, Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, RestAssured, GraphQL, and Postman. Knowledge of JMS, SQL, Splunk, and Jira is highly valued.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of industry experience, preferably in an Agile development environment.
• 5+ years of Java coding experience.
• Experience with automated testing tools such as Cucumber/Gherkin, Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, and Java.
• Experience with API automation testing using Java Spring Boot 2, RestAssured, GraphQL, or Postman.
• Experience with JMS-driven messaging protocols such as ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ, and Kafka.
• Knowledge of MS Entity Framework/Spring JDBC.
• Experience with service-oriented architecture.
• Knowledge of CI/CD processes and tools, preferably Jenkins/JenkinsX.
• Experience with source control versioning tools and processes (Git/Stash).
• Experience writing SQL queries for test data preparation and data validation.
• Experience working with databases and various data formats and related technologies for testing.
• Experience with Splunk analytics for validating technical fixes and updates in application code/configuration.
• Experience with defect tracking tools (JIRA).
• Experience in manual testing.
• Ability to work independently with an aptitude for detailed work and follow-up activities.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced Agile work environment.
• Experience in heavy-traffic eCommerce applications.

Responsibilities

• Participate in developing and documenting user stories by providing test strategy and automation estimates.
• Develop, document, and maintain the test strategy and test scenarios.
• Build and execute unit, component, acceptance, integration, load, security, scalability, usability, and platform tests.
• Conduct code reviews to ensure consistency, quality, and reusability of test automation artifacts.
• Partner with developers to ensure all areas of the application are fully tested and to find technical solutions for test automation.
• Build and manage automated test suites and ensure execution across various environments and CI/CD pipelines, including use by NOC teams.
• Regularly execute, maintain, and upkeep automated test suites, and analyze results to identify the cause of failures.
• Create defects for issues found with appropriate details and ensure issues are resolved, including validation of the fix and required automation updates.
• Present results to sign off on software functionality for new production releases.
• Work with cross-functional teams and release management to manage dev, QA, and production release of the software.
• Perform exploratory testing to understand features and their implementation, uncover unexpected behavior, and refine and define additional test cases.
• Contribute to the QA automation framework using industry-standard tools and approaches.
• Leverage and enhance coding standards and best practices for automated QA code.
• Participate in analyzing major incidents and emergency change controls to identify opportunities to automate quality test cases and reduce or eliminate recurrence.
