Job summary

One Identity is seeking an experienced Software Principal Engineer to provide technical leadership across multiple products and engineering teams. You will define architecture, mentor engineers, and drive cloud-native, secure solutions for enterprise IAM platforms.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, deep distributed systems experience, and the ability to influence strategy and technical direction across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 12+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Extensive experience designing and building enterprise software products.
• Proven experience serving as a technical leader across multiple engineering teams.
• Deep knowledge of software architecture and distributed systems.
• Strong experience with cloud-native application development.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to influence without direct authority.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical architecture and design of large-scale enterprise software solutions.
• Drive engineering strategy and influence technical direction across multiple teams.
• Design highly scalable, secure, and resilient cloud-native applications.
• Collaborate closely with Product Management, Engineering, Architecture, Security, and DevOps teams.
• Serve as the technical authority for critical engineering initiatives and architectural decisions.
• Lead design reviews, architecture discussions, and technical planning sessions.
• Mentor senior engineers and promote engineering best practices.
• Improve software quality through automation, testing, observability, and performance optimization.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption where appropriate.
• Partner with Security teams to ensure secure development practices and compliance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues.
• Drive modernization efforts, including cloud migration, platform improvements, and technical debt reduction.
• Contribute to coding, design, code reviews, and proof-of-concept development.
