Qualifikationen

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Licensed attorney in good standing.
• Registration to practice before the USPTO.
• At least 5 years of software-focused patent preparation and prosecution experience at a law firm.
• At least 100 patents drafted from scratch.
• Strong drafting skills across specs, claims, and responses, with a track record of moving applications forward efficiently.
• Experience with AI-related inventions, cloud systems, cybersecurity, distributed systems, databases, networking, or similar software domains.

Aufgaben

• Draft new patent applications focused on software inventions with clear technical narratives and strong claim strategy
• Manage prosecution from filing through allowance, including office-action responses, interviews, amendments, and examiner strategy
• Translate complex product concepts into patentable subject matter, defensible claim scope, and portfolio roadmaps
• Partner directly with founders, in-house counsel, product leaders, and engineering teams to capture inventions efficiently
• Conduct patentability and landscape analysis to guide filing decisions, continuation strategy, and competitive positioning
• Maintain excellent client communication, timelines, and docket hygiene across multiple matters
