ITC Federal, Inc. is seeking a Software/ML Engineer at junior to senior levels to support Microsoft's Spectre team and NGA. The role focuses on building cloud-native microservices in Python for AI foundation models, delivering high-quality code, and ensuring production readiness in a security-conscious government contractor setting.

Hybrid work with 2 days onsite at SCIF and 3 days remote; locations include NGA Springfield, Reston, or Redmond. Must have a TS security clearance and U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in CS/Math/Software Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of professional ML delivery experience; backend and services delivery.
• Ability to meet government security screening requirements (Top Secret; TS/SCI preferred).

ITC is seeking a motivated Software/ML Engineer to support Microsoft's Spectre team, which is advancing the state of the art in Geospatial AI. In collaboration with Microsoft Planetary Computer, Spectre develops foundation models for aerial object detection, tracking, and map generation, and an end-to-end AI platform that turns petabytes of data into accurate geospatial insights for mission customers. The team moves fast from ideas to experimentation to product development. In this role, you will build the cloud-native services and backend systems that power Spectre's AI foundation models and agentic workflows.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Cloud-Native & Backend Development
  • Design, build, and operate cloud-native microservices in Python to support AI foundation models and agentic workflows at scale.
  • Develop and maintain REST APIs and backend services using Azure AKS, IAM, Redis, and messaging systems with production-grade reliability.
• Automation & Production Readiness
  • Apply Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and CI/CD pipelines to automate deployment and ensure production readiness.
• Collaboration & Culture
  • Partner with industry-leading Engineers, Data Scientists, Designers, and Program Managers to deliver solid technical designs.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Math, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field, required.
• Proven experience in data science, software development, data modeling, or data engineering, OR equivalent experience. Candidates with additional experience will be considered at the mid or senior level.
• Minimum 2 years of professional experience with machine learning delivery responsibilities, such as:
  • Delivering high-quality code components that power services, servers, distributed systems, and backend architecture.
  • Incorporating AI, Machine Learning, and Computer Vision capabilities into solutions and services.
• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements.

PREFERRED:

• Hands-on experience with REST APIs, backend services, and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker).
• Experience with Azure cloud services (AKS, IAM, Redis, messaging systems).
• Background in building scalable, distributed backend systems.
• Practical experience working with geospatial workflows or datasets.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have an active Top Secret (TS) security clearance; TS/SCI preferred but not required.
• U.S. Citizenship is required due to the nature of this government contract.
