About the role
ADP is hiring an Engineering Manager to lead teams of software engineers who build and maintain microservices and features. You will coach and guide your team, facilitate work across time zones, review code, manage ad‑hoc requests, and ensure uncompromising product quality.
Responsibilities
- Oversee multiple scrum teams in product development.
- Manage dynamic teams to ensure product quality, security, and resilience, serving as primary liaison with business leaders.
- Communicate clearly to keep the team informed of company initiatives and progress.
- Motivate the team to maintain positive momentum and energy.
- Lead multiple product development teams of 6–8 members, including developers, leads, QA, and scrum masters.
- Ensure effective execution of initiatives, focusing on quality, security, and resilience.
- Act as primary contact for front‑line business leaders and support collaboration.
- Work closely with Tier 2 support to assist with queries and maintain inter‑departmental communication.
- Perform people leadership, fostering engagement, conducting reviews, and managing compensation planning.
- Provide strategic oversight and direction to the product development teams.
- Monitor and ensure quality of product development and support services.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with product development and support.
- Promote continuous improvement and innovation within the team.
- Communicate with stakeholders at all levels to align goals and expectations.
- Deliver at epic scale and act like an owner and doer.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- 10 years of experience in relevant skills gained in a similar role.
- Proven experience managing scrum teams and product development.
- Strong knowledge of leading products from conception to delivery.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams.
- Experience in strategic planning, quality assurance, and risk management.
- Good understanding of technology and experience developing both new and legacy products.
- Demonstrates courage in having difficult conversations, speaking up, and challenging ideas.
