Amtec Staffing is seeking an entry-level Software Integration Engineer for a temp-to-hire role in Michigan. You will integrate hardware modules into a combat-vehicle system, test software on Linux, and support cybersecurity hardening and verification testing.

The position requires experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, CAN bus and Ethernet, scripting, and cross-functional collaboration with engineering and vehicle test teams. US Secret clearance is required or obtainable.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in CS/CE/SE/EE, recent grad with internship experience.
• Ability to obtain US Secret Security Clearance.

• Ability to travel to customer sites and work on combat-vehicle systems.

Pay: $38.00 to $42.00 hourly

Note: This is for a military/ defense company. We are looking for somebody who has the ability to obtain a US Secret Security Clearance.

Summary:

We are seeking individuals with experience and a passion for software integration and testing of real-time, embedded software.

The Software Integration Engineer plans and performs a variety of tasks across the areas of integrating hardware modules into a combat vehicle system, integrating software items onto Linux Operating Systems, scripting, networking, cybersecurity hardening and scans, troubleshooting, problem solving, and software verification testing.

Duties:

• Integrates and tests software applications running on Red Hat Enterprise Linux and hardware components on a combat vehicle system Applies knowledge of Ethernet and CAN bus within software applications or tools to test and troubleshoot problems
• Collaborates with multidisciplinary engineering and vehicle test teams to investigate reported issues and analyze collected data
• Ensures that technical approach is consistent with established engineering principles and practices
• Ensures that product outcomes meet customer needs and that customer and company technical, system, performance, process, and quality requirements are met

Skills Required:

• Integration and testing of software applications on Red Hat Enterprise Linux Operating Systems
• Ability to build and maintain a software and hardware integration testbed
• Understanding of Ethernet and CAN bus protocols
• Git and Jira/Gitlab Configuration Management tools
• Exceptional communication (verbal and written) skills are a MUST
• Familiarity with current computer applications and technologies in applicable engineering disciplines
• Ability to apply critical thinking to solve technical design and development problems
• Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with customers to solve technical problems
• Ability to travel to the customer site
• Ability to work on combat vehicles systems.

Education Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Electrical Engineering. RECENT GRAD with internship experience
