Actalent is seeking a Software Implementation Engineer to support installation, configuration, testing, and ongoing customer-focused software support. The role blends troubleshooting, system implementation, testing, and end-user training, with substantial interaction with customers.

You will learn an existing software platform, work with experienced engineers, and progressively take on more responsibilities as you gain technical and product knowledge. Travel up to 40% is expected.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job description

We are seeking a Software Implementation Engineer to support the installation, configuration, testing, and ongoing support of proprietary software and integrated systems. This is a customer-facing technical role that combines software troubleshooting, system implementation, testing, and user training.

This is not primarily a software development position. The individual will learn an existing software platform and work alongside experienced engineers during customer implementations, gradually taking on more responsibility as their technical and product knowledge develops.

This role requires up to 40% travel. You are paid per diem for travel and all expenses are covered. Travel is typically during the week and to customers within the US.

Responsibilities

• Assist with software installation, configuration, testing, system validation, and go-live activities.
• Troubleshoot software, database, networking, system communication, and integration issues.
• Provide onsite and remote customer training on software operation and basic troubleshooting.
• Provide post-installation technical support, diagnose problems, and elevate complex issues to engineering when needed.
• Document system configurations and technical issues while collaborating with software engineering, project management, and customer support teams.
• Perform software and system testing and prepare for upcoming customer implementations when not traveling.

Qualifications

• Willingness to travel approximately 25-30%, with travel potentially reaching 40% depending on project needs.

Additional Information

This position is a good fit for someone who enjoys the technical side of software but does not necessarily want to be a full-time developer. The role provides exposure to software implementation, system integration, troubleshooting, testing, and direct customer support.

Customer travel is generally planned in advance and may occasionally involve evening or weekend support during system implementations.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $40.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
