Job summary

Constellation Technologies is seeking a senior software engineer in Maryland to design, develop, test, and deploy robust software systems across the lifecycle. You will lead teams, implement algorithms, and ensure integration with containerized environments and CI/CD pipelines.

The role requires an active TS/SCI clearance, a Computer Science degree (or equivalent experience), and extensive hands-on experience with Java, Python, and modern development tools.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline; four years of additional SWE experience may substitute for degree.
• Experience across software lifecycle stages from conception to decommissioning.
• Twenty years of experience as a software engineer for senior level.
• Experience with Java SE and Python development; Git, Maven, JavaScript/HTML5/CSS3, JUnit, and IDEs.
• Software architecture, requirements analysis, and software development processes.
• Containerization and orchestration with Docker/Kubernetes/OpenShift; CI/CD with GitLab CI; automated testing with SonarQube; Kubernetes deployments.
• Experience with agile development delivering features every sprint.
• Familiarity with Spring Framework, Spring Tool Suite, Grit, Jenkins, Hibernate, MySQL, Web Services, and Vaadin or Google Web Toolkit.

• Relevant experience in engineering systems over their lifecycle (conception, design & development, testing, production, distribution/deployment, operation, maintenance & support, decommissioning).
• Level 03 – Twenty (20) years of experience as a software engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Software Engineering experience developing using Java SE, Python, Git, Shell/bash, Nexus, Maven, JavaScript/HTML5/CSS3, JUnit, and IDEs.
• Software architecture development, requirements analysis, code generation, process execution and evaluation, selection and evaluation Software Engineering.
• Experience with containers and container orchestration (Docker/Kubernetes/OpenShift and GitLab CI) is highly desired, including experience with microservices and microservice orchestration, CI/CD pipelines, integration of automated testing tools like SonarQube, implementing automated deployments and failure rollbacks, deployment to Kubernetes.
• Experience supporting programs using an agile development methodology, delivering a new capability in every Sprint.
• Experience with Spring Framework, Spring Tool Suite, Grit, Jenkins, Hibernate, MySQL, Web Services, and Google Web Toolkit or Vaadin.

• Oversee one or more software development teams and ensure the work is completed in accordance with the constraints of the software development process being used on any particular project.
• Confer with system engineers and hardware engineers to derive software requirements and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces.
• Coordinate software system installation and monitor equipment functioning to ensure operational specifications are met.
