Job summary

ParetoHealth is offering a 2027 Summer Internship in software engineering. You will work with experienced engineers on software, tools, and workflows supporting Pareto's teams and services.

Contribute to scoped projects, participate in code reviews, and learn how software moves from idea to a reliable product. You'll gain experience across the stack, review production code, and see how changes are tested, reviewed, and deployed with guidance from teammates.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with at least one programming language through coursework or projects.
• Familiarity with core software development concepts such as data structures, version control, testing, and debugging.
• Willingness to learn new technologies and work in an unfamiliar codebase.
• Interest in learning how software supports real business and customers.

Responsibilities

• Help design, build, test, and maintain software features and internal tools.
• Contribute to web applications and backend services, working with TypeScript, Angular, Ionic, GraphQL, and MySQL.
• Collaborate with engineers and partners across product, operations, and other teams to understand needs and shape solutions.
• Write clear, maintainable code and contribute to automated tests and technical documentation.
• Learn and apply engineering practices such as version control, code review, automated testing, and CI/CD.
• Participate in code reviews, team meetings, and project planning.
• Investigate bugs and help improve reliability and usability of existing systems.
• Work with AWS and serverless technologies like AWS Lambda.
• Share progress and incorporate feedback while working.

What you'll do

• Learn to navigate and contribute to an existing codebase while following established engineering patterns and practices.

Nice to have

• Experience with TypeScript, JavaScript, Angular, React, or another modern web framework.
• Experience with web development, APIs, GraphQL , databases, or cloud platforms.
• Exposure to AWS, serverless applications, or infrastructure-as-code tools such as AWS CDK.
• Familiarity with tools such as Git and collaborative software development workflows.
• Personal, academic, or open-source projects you can share.
• Experience working with relational databases such as MySQL or another SQL-based database.
