Job summary

Applied Research Laboratories at UT Austin seeks a Software Engineering Scientist to develop high-performance C++ software for Linux-based signal processing and networked sonar systems. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related discipline.
  • Three years of software development experience.
  • Proficiency in C++ on Linux.
  • Strong OO concepts, data structures, design patterns and performance analysis.
  • Experience with Linux tooling, version control and testing.
  • Experience with multi-threaded development and debugging.
  • Experience with distributed software models and microservices.
  • Experience with TCP/IP sockets in Linux.
  • US Citizenship and eligibility for access to classified information.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop high-performance, distributed C++ software on Linux for signal processing and control.
  • Create distributed software running in containerized, orchestrated environments.
  • Incremental testing, troubleshooting and performance verification including CI/CD.
  • Develop test automation for unit and system level testing.
  • Document design, implementation, and issues clearly.
  • Perform other related functions as assigned.
