Job summary

Forvis Mazars, LLP is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead one or more product teams, ensuring high-quality software delivery within SSDLC, DevOps, and CI/CD practices. You will mentor engineers, drive agile ceremonies, and partner with stakeholders to align priorities and secure reliable, scalable, and secure systems.

The role emphasizes governance, architecture input, and technical debt reduction while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• 3+ years of experience leading Agile software development teams.
• Experience developing and supporting enterprise web applications.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented design principles, software engineering best practices, and modern development methodologies.
• Experience with Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC), DevOps, CI/CD, and Agile delivery practices.
• Experience with relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server.
• Understanding of cloud-based application development and deployment.
• Experience with source control systems and modern software delivery processes.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop software engineers and technical leads through coaching, performance management, and career development planning.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and technical excellence.
• Provide oversight for software delivery across one or more product teams while promoting Agile best practices.
• Participate in project planning, estimation, risk identification, and delivery planning activities.
• Monitor team performance and delivery metrics through Jira and other Agile reporting tools.
• Ensure teams deliver software predictably, efficiently, and with high quality.
• Promote sustainable team velocity and timely completion of development initiatives.
• Ensure adherence to SSDLC, DevOps, CI/CD, testing, code review, and security standards.
• Oversee remediation of technical, operational, and security risks impacting software products.
• Participate in architecture and technical design discussions to support scalable, maintainable, reliable, and secure solutions.
• Drive identification and prioritization of technical debt reduction initiatives.
