Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Lead Software Engineer in Kansas to guide a team of 4–5 third-party engineers. You will shape the SDP platform architecture, drive API and system integration efforts, and oversee end-to-end delivery of microservices-based applications.

You will review code, mentor developers, and coordinate offshore resources while preparing clear technical specifications and documentation. A strong background in Java, Spring, Hibernate, SQL, and REST is required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
Seven+ years of software engineering with API and system integration focus.
Experience with front-end: Angular, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS.
Experience with back-end: Java 8+, Spring, Hibernate, SQL, REST.
Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent professional experience
Seven or more years of Software Engineering experience with a focus on APIs and system integration
Prior experience with front-end technologies including Angular, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS
Prior experience with back-end technologies including Java 8+, Spring framework (Boot, Security), Hibernate (JPA), SQL, and REST
Excellent technical, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills
Knowledge of portal software, design, and development
Experience working with or leading offshore Software Developers
Strong technical documentation skills
Excellent interpersonal skills, including communication, conflict resolution, and negotiation
Organizational skills for prioritization and multitasking
Ability to work independently with supervision on projects of varying complexity
