Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior leader to guide enterprise architecture and strategy across multiple lines of business. You will partner with executives to shape technology goals, drive cross-functional collaboration, and champion best-practice design principles for cloud and web initiatives.

Job description

• Provide technical guidance and leadership to development teams delivering quality solutions used by multiple lines of business
• Drive teams toward best end-to-end design solutions for the enterprise
• Interact with executive management to develop strategic direction for the department and functional areas
• Partner with executive leadership and stakeholders across the organization
• Translate strategic priorities and goals into tactical action plans and milestones
• Work with cross-functional leaders to understand and influence business strategy, set priorities, and define technology goals
• Champion enterprise architecture and design principles
• Lead whiteboard discussions and presentations with stakeholders, executive leadership, and enterprise architecture
• Identify opportunities to use third-party development frameworks, open-source libraries, and APIs
• Oversee service quality, key performance indicators, internal controls, market events, and industry changes
• Stay current with technical trends, experiment with new technologies, and participate in technology communities
• Solve problems quickly, bring clarity, and minimize unforeseen impacts
• Drive a culture of change, innovation, and prudent experimentation
• Oversee quality, delivery, performance, cost, and scope for cloud and web development initiatives
• Develop staff through coaching, performance feedback, assessments, and performance and development plans
• Mentor current and future leaders and promote technical excellence and professional growth

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, math, engineering, or another technical field, or equivalent experience
Twelve years of experience with database design techniques/philosophies, modern distributed applications, and microservices
Ten years of experience delivering large-scale design projects involving broad enterprise operational functions
Eight years of experience managing diverse teams and leading cross-functional teams
Strong background in DevOps methodologies and continuous integration/continuous delivery
Experience with architecture and strategy
Experience managing vendor relationships, including product/service evaluation, contract negotiations, and ongoing relationship management
Familiarity with modern UI development frameworks such as Angular, React, and Vue.js
Familiarity with web technologies such as HTTP, HTML, JavaScript, and CSS
Results-oriented with a strong customer focus
Strong communication skills for delivering relevant information to the Board, executives, and employees
Ability to synthesize ambiguous and complex information into actionable outcomes
Proactive mindset to drive change, question assumptions, and pursue innovation
Ability to work as part of a team and independently
Analytical and problem-solving skills
Technical communication and presentation skills for all organizational levels
Ability to work in a highly matrixed environment and resolve organizational issues
Ability to prioritize workload to meet tight deadlines
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without immigration sponsorship
Preferred: Master’s degree
Preferred: experience with advanced analytics and machine learning concepts and implementations
Preferred: understanding of big data and real-time data processing architecture and ecosystems
Preferred: solution architecture and implementation experience
Preferred: technology or platform certifications such as AWS or Microsoft
Preferred: knowledge of the financial services industry
