Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Software Engineering track intern to design, build and deliver scalable applications that support better healthcare outcomes. You’ll gain hands-on experience solving real-world tech challenges and collaborate with peers, mentors, and cross-functional partners across The Cigna Group.

You’ll participate in a structured curriculum including technical training, leadership development, and business exposure while building relationships through networking and collaborative

Qualifications

Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
Relevant coursework, projects, research, internships, hackathons, coding competitions, open-source contributions, or collaborative software development experience.
Foundational proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as Python, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, or C#.
Exposure to front-end, back-end, full-stack, API, database, cloud, testing, version control, or SDLC concepts.
Familiarity with Git or another version control system.
Interest in agile, collaborative development practices.
Ability to communicate technical concepts, solve problems, learn new tools, and work with technical and nontechnical partners.
Must be eligible for employment in the United States and not require visa sponsorship.
Must be available to work a 40-hour week starting May 24, 2027 and meet a hybrid schedule with onsite days.
Exposure to generative AI tools such as GitHub Copilot or Cursor is preferred.
GPA 3.3+ preferred.
Home internet with adequate bandwidth if remote.

Exposure to front-end, back-end, full-stack, application programming interface, database, cloud, testing, version control, or software development lifecycle concepts

Must be eligible for employment in the United States and must not now or in the future require visa sponsorship, including H-1B, CPT/OPT/STEM
Must be available to work a 40-hour work week beginning May 24, 2027
Must be able to meet the hybrid schedule of at least three onsite days per week
Selected candidates must complete mandatory pre-employment tasks approximately 45 days before the program start date
Exposure to generative artificial intelligence tools such as GitHub Copilot or Cursor is preferred
GPA of 3.3 or higher is preferred
Home internet connection, if working remotely, must use cable broadband or fiber optic service with at least 10 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload

Demonstrates foundational proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, and JavaScript, along with exposure to software development lifecycle concepts and collaborative development practices. Strong communication skills enable effective engagement with both technical and non-technical partners.
