Amplify is seeking a motivated Software Engineering Intern for a remote, 10-week summer program to help build scalable digital experiences for educators, students, and families. The role involves supporting development across Amplify’s web and mobile suite, debugging, testing, and contributing to API specifications and internal docs.

Candidates should be pursuing a CS/SE degree, have familiarity with Python/Java/JavaScript/TypeScript, and exposure to React or Node.js.

• Amplify is seeking a motivated and technically driven Software Engineering Intern to join our team this summer and help us build robust, scalable, and innovative digital experiences for the educators, students, and families who use our cutting-edge educational products
• This paid, remote 10-week internship offers the chance to make a real impact on products used by millions of students and teachers
• Throughout the program, interns will engage with Amplify’s culture via product demos, team-building activities, and engagement initiatives, plus grow through a virtual speaker series featuring Amplify executives, additional product demos, and dedicated mentorship
• Support the design, development, and testing of software features and enhancements across Amplify’s web and mobile product suite
• Help identify and resolve bugs, performance bottlenecks, and technical debt to improve product quality and reliability
• Assist with code reviews, unit testing, integration testing, and deployment pipelines to ensure high-quality software delivery
• Contribute to technical documentation, engineering wikis, API specifications, and internal developer resources
• Track and resolve issues in project management and version control systems to support sprint goals and release timelines
• Participate in product demos, sprint ceremonies, and Engineering/Product Manager meetings to build knowledge of Amplify’s technology stack and development practices
• Direct exposure to software engineering tools, frameworks, and best practices used in EdTech
• Real-world engineering challenges that affect educators, students, and families
• Collaboration with Engineering, Product, and Design teams across the organization
• Contributions to meaningful feature development and product improvements in a mission-driven environment
• Mentorship from industry professionals at the forefront of software engineering in education
• Exposure to Frontend Engineering, Backend Engineering, Cloud Infrastructure, DevOps, and API Development

While our summer intern roles are remote positions, interns must be authorized to work in the US, reside in the US for the internship’s duration, and be available full-time for the entire program, June 7 – August 13, 2027

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Knowledge of and interest in the K–12 education technology field

Education: Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree program, returning to school in Fall 2027

Ability to synthesize information, identify themes, and communicate insights clearly

Working knowledge of at least one programming language such as Python, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, or similarExposure to frontend frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js; or backend frameworks such as Node.js, Django, or SpringBackground in software development through coursework, personal projects, open-source contributions, or prior internshipsInterest in cloud computing, DevOps, API development, distributed systems, or platform engineeringUnderstanding of software design patterns, data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming principles
