Job summary

RTX seeks a Software Engineering Intern for the summer at our Portsmouth, RI site, working with experienced engineers to design, develop, test, and maintain software that supports our products and internal systems. You will gain hands-on project experience, mentorship from technical leaders, and exposure to full software lifecycle while developing technical, professional, and leadership skills.

• Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree and actively enrolled through completion of the internship/co‑op session.
• Must have a minimum of 60 hours of credit by the start of the internship/co‑op session.
• Experience with at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, C#, C++, JavaScript)
• Familiarity with software development fundamentals such as data structures, algorithms, version control, and testing
• Strong problem‑solving skills and willingness to learn
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment

In this role, you will work closely with experienced engineers to design, develop, test, and maintain software solutions that support our products and internal systems. The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
