Job summary

RTX is seeking a Software Engineer intern/co-op in Morrisville, NC to join embedded software projects. You will design, develop, integrate, and verify software for mission-critical systems, collaborating with hardware, systems, and FPGA teams.

You will work with C, C++, Rust, Python and Linux, gain hands-on experience in the full software lifecycle, and contribute to secure, robust software while learning cryptography and networking concepts.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a BS/MS in STEM and actively enrolled through the internship/co-op.
• Must have a minimum of 60 credit hours by the start of the internship/co-op session.
• Experience in C, C++, Rust, Python and/or Linux is required.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Experience in C, C++, Rust, python and/or Linux
• Must be pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.
• Must have a minimum of 60 hours of credit by the start of the internship / co-op session.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Some experience coding in an embedded environment
• Security focused mindset
• Familiar with multi-threaded and object oriented development
• Familiar with the basics of asymmetric and symmetric encryption
• TCP/IP network applications development knowledge
• Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience.

• Relocation Eligibility

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
