Job summary

AeroVironment is offering a paid Summer Internship Program in Huntsville, AL. As a Software Engineering Intern, you’ll contribute to design, development, and testing of software across ground control, UIs, data pipelines, and simulations, while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

This 12-week onsite program requires students or recent grads with a minimum 3.0 GPA; relocation support may be available. You’ll gain hands-on experience in a full-time environment and learn Agile practices.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a BS/MS in CS, SE, or related field.
• Strong foundation in Python, C++, or Java.
• Familiar with IDEs such as Visual Studio, Git, Eclipse.
• Experience with data structures and algorithms.
• Able to work independently and in a team.
• Effective written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design, coding, testing, and debugging software components.
• Contribute to tools for AV robotics and aerospace platforms.
• Collaborate across software, hardware, and systems teams.
• Participate in code reviews and use version control.
• Help develop scripts to improve workflows.
• Learn and apply Agile development practices.
• Support prototypes, simulations, and demos.
• Attend team meetings and estimate effort.
