Job summary

Aleron is seeking a Level 4 Software Engineer in Salt Lake City to develop and integrate system software for embedded devices and advanced communication systems. You will own significant features across the full software life cycle, working with systems engineers, software teams, and program leadership to deliver reliable, high-performance solutions.

Candidates should have a Bachelor's in CS/CE/EE, 6+ years in software engineering, C++ in embedded RTOS, and experience with DoD programs.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
  • 6+ years of software engineering experience.
  • 6+ years in object-oriented C++ development.
  • 6+ years embedded real-time software in Linux or VxWorks.
  • 6+ years high-performance, multi-threaded programming.
  • 6+ years leading features or subsystems.
  • 6+ years with DoD programs.
  • 6+ years hands-on on embedded targets.

Responsibilities

  • Develop embedded software from requirements through testing and support.
  • Lead major software features and technical execution.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on interfaces and integration.
  • Contribute to test plans, documentation, and code reviews.
  • Work with Windows, Linux, and embedded RTOS environments.

Compensation: $60.00-$65.00 /hr.

Schedule: 9/80 hrs/Week.

  • Lead significant software features, integrations, and technical execution activities while helping shape technical direction for features or subsystems.

  • Contribute to software test plans, technical documentation, peer reviews, defect resolution, and other software development activities across the full life cycle.

Job Requirements
What You'll Bring:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
  • 6+ years of experience in software engineering.
  • 6+ years of experience in object-oriented software development using C++.
  • 6+ years of experience in embedded real-time software development in Linux or VxWorks environments.
  • 6+ years of experience in high-performance and multi-threaded programming.
  • 6+ years of experience in leading significant features, resolving complex technical challenges, or providing technical direction for subsystems.
  • 6+ years of experience in working with Department of Defense programs.
  • 6+ years of experience with hands-on software development and troubleshooting on embedded targets.
  • 6+ years of experience in embedded systems design, including use of a real-time operating system.
What Sets You Apart:
  • Master's Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
  • Demonstrated depth of knowledge in programming languages, compilers, and application execution.
  • Ability to collaborate across engineering disciplines and influence execution without direct authority.
Additional Information:
  • Upon offer of employment, the individual will be subject to a background check.
  • Travel is minimal.
  • Requires an active Secret clearance.
