Job summary

Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. in Seattle is hiring an SDE for the Workload Optimization team to accelerate containerized workload readiness on AWS Fargate.

You’ll work at the intersection of container runtimes, OS, and networking on a greenfield project with a senior team, focusing on performance and scale. You will design, implement, and optimize end-to-end launch paths for containerized workloads, impacting customer experience at enormous scale.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of design or architecture experience for new or existing systems
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale distributed software applications
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
• Experience programming with at least one software language
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in CS/Engineering/Math

Responsibilities

• Build and optimize container startup and runtime systems using Linux kernel, containerd/runc, and Bottlerocket
• Design and implement solutions across container networking and instance preparation stack
• Work on one of the highest-scale container orchestration platforms in the world
• Join a founding team with greenfield ownership and the opportunity to shape technical direction from day one
