Job summary

Amazon Web Services, Inc. in Seattle seeks an SDE for the Workload Optimization team to dramatically reduce launch latency for containerized workloads on AWS Fargate. You will work on Linux kernel, container runtimes, OS, and networking to optimize end-to-end readiness and performance at massive scale.

Join a greenfield team with ownership from day one, collaborating across a small senior group focused on correctness, performance, and customer impact. Strong system-level experience is essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of design or architecture experience for new and existing systems.
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Responsibilities

• Build and optimize container startup and runtime systems using Linux kernel, containerd/runc, and Bottlerocket.
• Design and implement solutions across the container networking and instance preparation stack.
• Work on one of the highest-scale container orchestration platforms in the world.
• Join a founding team with greenfield ownership and the opportunity to shape technical direction from day one.
