Job summary

Amazon ECS in Seattle is forming a Workload Optimization team to dramatically reduce launch times for containerized workloads on AWS Fargate. As an SDE, you will work at the intersection of container runtimes, OS, and networking with a senior team on a greenfield project that will directly impact customer experience at scale.

You’ll own core systems, influence architectural directions from day one, and operate with a culture of ownership, rigor, and high performance.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems.
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software.
• 1+ years of OO design experience.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in CS/Engineering/Math or related field.

Responsibilities

• Build and optimize container startup and runtime systems using Linux kernel, containerd/runc, and Bottlerocket.
• Design and implement solutions across container networking and instance preparation stack.
• Work on one of the highest-scale container orchestration platforms in the world.
• Join a founding team with greenfield ownership and opportunity to shape technical direction from day one.
