Job summary

Cisco Webex Engineering Group in Galway is hiring a Software Engineer to develop a foundational architecture component used by over 90% of Webex services. This hybrid role offers mentorship and work across HTTP clients, service infrastructure, data access, and observability tools.

Qualifications

• 3rd Level Qualification: Bachelor's or higher in an analytical subject (e.g. Computer Science, Electronic/Software Engineering).
• Work experience: Demonstrated 3+ years experience in software development.
• Coding Aptitude: Extensive architecture and programming experience and willingness to learn new technologies quickly.
• Problem Solver: Apply scientific approach and creative skills to complex problems.
• Adaptable & Collaborative: Flexible, thrives in diverse teams and communicates clearly.

Responsibilities

• Full Lifecycle Development: design, develop, test, and deliver new features in an agile team.
• DevOps & Microservices: lead operational aspects of a highly available microservice architecture.
• Shared Components: design and maintain core features in the shared Java library (HTTP clients, data access, metrics, logging, etc.).
• Embrace AI technology: leverage AI to accelerate productivity and feature delivery.
