Job summary

Cisco’s Webex Engineering Group is hiring software engineers to design, build, and lead end-user features used by millions of people worldwide. You will break down requirements, implement maintainable components, and collaborate with product managers and designers to deliver exceptional experiences across Windows, macOS, Linux, and Web platforms.

Qualifications

Your Impact

  • Design, build, and lead end-user features used by millions of people worldwide.
  • Break down product requirements into clear technical tasks and implement elegant, maintainable components within an existing framework.
  • Listen to the customer and elevate their experience. CSAT, NPS, feedback, and metrics are their voice — act as a detective to troubleshoot and understand, and as an engineer to improve.
  • Play to win — collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver high-quality experiences that delight our customers. Share your opinions, iterate, and move fast.
  • Optimise — spend more time on the most challenging problems by using AI tools effectively and responsibly.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in an analytical subject such as Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or Software Engineering.
  • Experience: 2+ years of professional software development experience or equivalent, with a strong passion for technology and building high-quality software.
  • Coding Aptitude: Solid architecture and programming experience, with the ability and desire to learn new technologies quickly.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to apply (and lead) a scientific and creative approach to solving complex problems.
  • Adaptable & Collaborative: Thrives in diverse team environments and communicates clearly and precisely.
  • Quality Focus: Strong attention to detail, experience defining test strategies, and a commitment to continuous learning and quality outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • End-to-end development experience across the stack, in some or all of the following:
    • Languages: Modern C++, Swift, TypeScript/JavaScript, Java, Python
    • UI Frameworks: Qt, Cocoa, React, Angular, or similar
    • Back-end: Java (Spring), RESTful APIs, WebSockets, and API design
  • Experience with unit, integration, and end-to-end testing, including contract testing and test automation within CI pipelines.
  • Nice to have: An interest in AI‑assisted development, including hands‑on use or experimentation with LLM‑based tools for tasks such as scaffolding, refactoring, test generation, debugging, or developer productivity improvements — with strong validation and ownership of shipped code.
  • Familiarity with Git, DevOps practices, continuous integration, and continuous delivery.
  • Experience optimising applications across Windows, macOS, Linux, and Web platforms.
