Job summary

FreeWheel, a Comcast company, is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Buyercloud Ad Serving team. The role focuses on data-driven feature development, scaling distributed systems, and reducing cloud hosting costs while supporting observability and on-call responsibilities.

You will design and implement features for marketing campaigns, work across time zones, and contribute to a highly scalable ad serving platform used by hundreds of customers daily.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of software engineering experience.
• Experience building scalable systems.
• Experience with performance optimization, scaling and data modeling.
• Strong understanding of software architecture.
• Experience with compiled languages such as C++, Java, Rust, and Go.
• Experience working in a Linux ecosystem.

Responsibilities

• Design and build data-driven and model-driven features for customers to execute marketing campaigns.
• Scale our distributed application and infrastructure to the next level.
• Optimize algorithms and software architectures to save cloud hosting costs.
• Support and extend the observability stack to capture and alert on issues.
• Participate in on-call rotations and be an escalation contact for incidents.
• Write systems documentation and runbooks.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Exercise independent judgment in significant matters.
