Job summary

FreeWheel, a Comcast company, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for our New York based engineering hub to design, build, and support a high-quality video advertising platform. You will work with cross-functional teams to own features throughout their lifecycle and mentor junior engineers.

Responsibilities cover design, testing, documentation, and deployment, with a focus on scalable, robust systems handling billions of requests.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience with C/C++/Golang, DB design and network programming.
• Experience with large system software design and development.
• Experience with distributed systems and mission-critical systems is preferred.
• Demonstrated expertise in problem solving and technical innovation.
• Knowledgeable about SDLC, Agile and Software Engineering Methodology.

Responsibilities

• Be a feature owner that is responsible for the complete lifecycle of software development in your owned feature, including designing, prototyping, implementation, testing, maintenance and technical support.
• Produce technical specifications and determine operational feasibility.
• Write well designed, testable, efficient code.
• Develop software verification plans and quality assurance procedures.
• Integrate software components into a fully functional software system.
• Document and maintain software functionality.
• Tailor and deploy engineering tools, processes and metrics.
• Mentor junior level software engineers.
