Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Software Development Engineer for S3 in Seattle to help design and build the next generation of distributed storage systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, durable services that power trillions of objects and billions of transactions daily.

You should thrive in a fast-paced, owner-driven culture, write clean, testable code, and tackle hard problems in a large-scale distributed environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with experienced cross-disciplinary Amazonians to conceive, design, and bring innovative products and services to market.
• Design and build innovative technologies in a large distributed computing environment and help lead fundamental changes in the industry.
• Work with other team members to investigate design approaches, prototype new technology and evaluate technical feasibility.
• Take feature specifications and deliver working code that is maintainable and extendable.
• Build distributed storage, index, and query systems that are scalable, fault-tolerant, low cost, and easy to manage/use.
• Design and code the right solutions starting from broadly defined problems.
• Work in an agile environment to deliver high-quality software.
