Responsibilities

• Solving challenging problems in autonomous driving, such as traffic management and construction navigation, to enable safe and timely vehicle navigation.
• Supporting Aurora’s scaling efforts by enabling a single operator to assist more autonomous vehicles and addressing challenges from operational expansion.
• Building tools and workflows for remote assist specialists to support autonomous vehicles and manage Aurora’s fleet.

In this role, you will

• Develop ideas for providing remote assist specialists with all necessary situational context for decision making.
• Create tools and workflows to guide autonomous vehicles through on-road challenges safely and effectively.
• Contribute to mission management and fleet intelligence software for efficient fleet management.
• Design verification and validation plans to ensure safety and effectiveness of systems in real-world operations.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholders including remote assist specialists, product leadership, data science, UI/UX design, platform engineering, and test engineering.

Required Qualifications

• 6+ years of industry software engineering experience with strong C++ fundamentals.
• Experience in robotics and/or autonomous vehicles.
• Interest in developing user-facing tools and workflows.

Desirable Qualifications

• Experience leveraging ML / AI technologies.
• Previous work in human-robot interaction.
• Experience developing Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs).
