Job summary

InvestedintheMission seeks a Software Development Engineer based in Chantilly, VA, with hybrid work options. The role focuses on building mission-critical systems, using modern tech stacks, and delivering real value beyond surface-level features.

You’ll join a high-performing team with real-world impact, where collaboration and modern tooling (Kubernetes, CI/CD, AWS) are central. Expect three days on-site with two remote days, and meaningful engineering work that matters.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph Clearance.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience.
• A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline may be substituted for 4 years of experience; Master’s for 6; PhD for 7.
• Experience with AWS tools and services.
• Experience working in Agile environments.
• Codes and tests high quality software in an agile team.
• Follows software process management throughout coding.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and evolve applications using solid engineering principles and Agile methodologies.
• Work in a team to deliver functional software that meets real-world needs.
• Lead small tasks in coordination with other technical resources.
• Support documentation, design, and process improvement activities.
