Job summary

ASD in Chantilly, VA, seeks a software engineer to deliver embedded software for mission systems. You will develop in C/C++, .NET, Python and collaborate on Agile teams to meet partner requirements, while producing user and developer documentation and guiding technical direction.

Requirements include TS/SCI with poly eligibility, strong problem-solving and teamwork; experience with RTOS, CI/CD, and instrumentation is valued. This role is onsite at a Mission Systems Sector site in Chantilly.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI security clearance with poly to be considered. TS/SCI with poly eligibility must be in place by the start date and must stay in place through employment.
• Minimum education and experience are 8 years’ experience with Bachelor’s in Science; 6 years’ experience with Masters; 4 years’ experience with PhD.
• Proficient in C#.
• Proficient in C.
• Experience developing software for embedded systems using C/C++.
• Experience developing using .NET Framework on Windows.
• Experience with Python.
• Experience developing software on Agile teams with a strong track record of delivering solutions.
• Experience with Real-Time Operating Systems.
• Knowledge of software development life cycle.
• Strong creative problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to visualize and implement innovative solutions to problems.
• Strong ability to collaborate and excel on a team.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver software to meet mission partner requirements.
• Develop both user and developer-level documentation.
• Participate in setting the team’s technical direction in alignment with operational requirements and the sponsor’s technical roadmap.
• Collaborate with the team to review and improve processes (development, test, governance, stakeholder interactions).
• Communicate project status, roadblocks, technical and process proposals to the team and stakeholders.
• Prioritize development efforts with mission partners.
• Define the complexity, scope, and resources needed to integrate new requirements.
