Job summary

Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. is seeking a Software Development Engineer to design, build, and operate the services that authenticate, authorize, connect, and stream WorkSpaces sessions for humans and AI agents.

You will own end‑to‑end delivery of features in the Data Plane with a focus on availability, latency, and security across regions. You will drive architecture decisions, partner with identity, networking, and gateway teams, and push innovation such as AI‑assisted operational

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non‑internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) experience.
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
• 1+ years of designing and developing large‑scale, multi‑tiered, multi‑threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver features and systems within the Data Plane, contributing to the architecture strategy for how the connection and streaming layer evolves to broker and stream sessions for AI agents alongside human users.
• Drive the work that unifies and simplifies how sessions are brokered and streamed across protocols, making a consistent, high‑fidelity connection experience the default.
• Design and implement pre‑session authentication, authorization, and governance for humans and agents sharing the same path.
• Own the operation of low‑latency, high‑availability brokering and streaming services across multiple regions and protocols.
• Drive engineering excellence through instrumentation, automated testing, and pipeline‑based deployment.
• Raise the bar on connection reliability and observability so authentication and streaming deliver without operational tax.
