Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking a Software Development Engineer to design, build, and operate the Data Plane services that authenticate, authorize, connect, and stream WorkSpaces sessions for humans and AI agents. You will own end-to-end delivery across design, deployment, and operations with a focus on availability, latency, and security.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of design or architecture (patterns, reliability, scaling) experience.
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver features and systems within the Data Plane, contributing to the architecture strategy for session broker and stream for AI agents alongside human users.
• Unify and simplify how sessions are brokered and streamed across protocols for a high-fidelity connection experience.
• Design and implement pre-session authentication, authorization, and governance for humans and agents sharing the same path.
• Own operation of low-latency, high-availability brokering and streaming services across production regions and protocols.
• Drive engineering excellence through instrumentation, automated testing, and pipeline-based deployment.
• Raise the bar on connection reliability and observability for authentication, session brokering, streaming, and metrics.
