Job summary

Oliver Bernard is seeking a Software Engineer to own production-grade API integrations and data pipelines in NYC. The role focuses on a Python + AWS stack in a hybrid setup, with hands-on ownership in a seed-stage startup.

You will tackle OAuth, webhooks, retries, and idempotency, and you’ll orchestrate workflows with Prefect, Dagster, Airflow, and AWS Step Functions.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years backend engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience owning APIs/integrations in production.
• Experience with data pipelines or workflow orchestration.
• Comfortable in a small, high-ownership startup environment.
• Must have a Computer Science Degree.

I'm working with an exciting, well-funded Seed start-up building a platform for construction capital program owners. Their technology brings together fragmented project data and documents, using AI, automation and knowledge graphs to help customers make better decisions and reduce manual work.

You'll build and own production-grade API integrations and data pipelines, handling the real-world challenges of OAuth, webhooks, rate limits, pagination, retries and idempotency. You'll also build async and orchestrated workflows using tools like Prefect, Dagster, Airflow and AWS Step Functions, working primarily across a Python + AWS stack.

Looking for:
