Rainmaker is hiring a Software Engineer to own production infrastructure, security, and 24/7 remote systems. You will manage cloud infrastructure, deployments, observability, secrets, vulnerability management, incident response, and recovery.

The role emphasizes shipping reliable systems that endure lost communications and fast-moving environments. Ideal candidates bring AWS and IaC experience (Pulumi or Terraform), know how to manage secrets, and have built or operated production networks with

Qualifications

• Experience building production infrastructure.
• Must be fast, autonomous, and opinionated.
• Willing to relocate to El Segundo, CA.
• Value: shipped production systems over degrees.
• Familiarity with AWS and IaC tools Pulumi or Terraform.
• Experience managing secrets and credential lifecycles.
• Designed or operated zero-trust, WireGuard-based networks; uses Tailscale.

Responsibilities

• Own production infrastructure end to end, setting deployment, monitoring, and recovery standards.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and test infrastructure for rapid development.
• Balance rigor and security with the need for engineers to move quickly.
• Work across software, science, aircraft engineering, and field operations.
