Job summary

Justworks is seeking a Software Engineer to join a fast-paced, collaborative team in the United States. You will own large-scale projects from discovery through launch, work with cross-functional partners, and improve the performance, reliability, and scalability of our systems.

We value mentorship, technical leadership, and a drive to push for engineering excellence while keeping sensitive data secure. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS), SQL, and modern languages is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of professional development experience.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, Node.js, or Ruby; Go is a plus.
• Strong SQL skills and understanding of database fundamentals.
• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
• Ability to build, deploy and maintain large-scale applications.
• Interest in helping junior developers and sharing knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Independently own large-scoped projects from discovery through launch with a focus on outcomes and customer impact.
• Collaborate with a cross-functional team to solve customer challenges.
• Improve the performance, reliability, and scalability of our existing systems.
• Promote engineering excellence through leadership, knowledge-sharing and mentorship.
• Enhance our testing, monitoring and CD infrastructure.
• Maintain security and privacy of highly sensitive data.
