Job summary

Justworks, based in New York City, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our backend-focused team. You will work with Go, Ruby on Rails, and JavaScript to design scalable services, APIs, and data models while maintaining high standards of reliability.

You will collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers, emphasize observability, security, and mentorship, and contribute to an onboarding culture aligned with our COGIS values.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years of professional hands-on experience.
• Expertise in backend systems and object-oriented design.
• Experience using Agile/Scrum methodology in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a cross functional team to design a next-generation platform to unlock new business capabilities
• Take ownership of designing and implementing APIs, systems integrations and backend services
• Promote engineering excellence through technical leadership, knowledge-sharing and mentorship
• Instate best-practices observability and monitoring as “first principles” of all our services
• Keep extremely sensitive data compartmentalized and secure
• Perform other related duties as assigned
