Job description

Reports to: VP of Systems (Jordan Brandley)

ABOUT THE ROLE

Operations at HydroJug — S&OP, demand planning, inventory allocation, and supply planning — runs on a combination of spreadsheets and point solutions today. This role builds the tooling layer that makes those processes scalable. As the Software Engineer for Operations, you will own the development of S&OP tools, planning systems, an allocation engine, and inventory tooling automation. You will partner closely with the Director of Planning & S&OP to translate business processes into working software.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • S&OP Tooling — Build and maintain systems that support the S&OP process: demand consolidation, consensus forecasting inputs, scenario modeling, and S&OP meeting data infrastructure
  • Planning Systems — Develop tools that integrate demand planning, supply planning, and inventory positioning across three brands and multiple channels
  • Allocation Engine — Build the allocation logic that determines how available inventory is distributed across channels, customers, and SKUs; ensure the engine is configurable as business rules evolve
  • Inventory Tooling Automation — Automate manual inventory workflows: reorder triggers, inventory health alerts, slow-mover reporting, transfer recommendations
  • ERP / NetSuite Integration — Integrate planning and allocation tools with NetSuite (or current ERP); ensure data flows reliably between systems
  • Ongoing Iteration — Maintain, improve, and extend Operations tooling based on stakeholder feedback; resolve bugs; ship improvements on cadence
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 2–5 years of software engineering experience building web applications or internal tools
  • Proficiency in Node.js and React
  • Experience designing data models for operational or planning domains (inventory, orders, forecasts, allocations)
  • Ability to scope and execute projects end to end without heavy senior oversight
  • Comfort working directly with Ops/planning stakeholders to gather requirements and iterate quickly
  • Experience with ERP integrations (NetSuite, SAP, or equivalent) is a plus
  • Supply chain, inventory, or S&OP domain familiarity is a plus — but the right engineer can learn the domain
  • Bootcamp graduates and mid-level engineers from the SLC/Provo/Ogden area are welcome — this is a domain-focused role, not a staff engineering role
