Full Stack Software Engineer
Position Overview
We are seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable web applications. You will work across the stack to implement new features, improve system performance, and deliver high-quality software in an agile environment. The role emphasizes pragmatic engineering, strong collaboration with product and design teams, and a focus on reliability and maintainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain backend services and APIs using Ruby on Rails and/or Python.
- Develop responsive, accessible front-end interfaces with modern JavaScript frameworks and libraries.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define requirements and ship features end-to-end.
- Write automated tests (unit, integration, end-to-end) and maintain test coverage to ensure software quality.
- Participate in code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and share best practices across the team.
- Own deployment pipelines and contribute to CI/CD, monitoring, and incident response processes.
- Optimize application performance and scalability, including database queries and caching strategies.
- Document architecture, design decisions, and operational runbooks.
- Ensure security, privacy, and compliance considerations are integrated into the development lifecycle.
Qualifications
- 5+ years as a Sofwtare Engineer
- Proven experience with Ruby on Rails and building RESTful APIs.
- Strong JavaScript skills and experience with modern frameworks
- Experience with Python for backend services, scripts, or automation.
- Solid understanding of relational and NoSQL databases, schema design, and query optimization.
- Familiarity with testing frameworks, TDD practices, and automated testing tools.
- Experience with CI/CD tooling, containerization (Docker), and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Proficient with Git, branching strategies, and collaborative workflows.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, clear communication, and the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
