Pyramid Consulting, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Software Engineer: Networking Development - II in Hillsboro, OR. This is a 6+ month contract position located onsite, with long‑term potential driven by project needs.

The role focuses on Ethernet networking, firmware validation, and platform engineering in a lab setting. You will debug issues, validate releases, and collaborate across engineering teams to ensure smooth deployments.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in networking, validation, system integration, firmware, or platform engineering.
• Strong understanding of Ethernet technologies and networking fundamentals (OSI Layers 1-4).
• Experience with Linux administration and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with DPDK, SR-IOV, and RDMA technologies.

Responsibilities

• Reproduce, triage, and root-cause customer-reported issues related to Ethernet solutions.
• Debug software, firmware, and platform-level issues in a lab environment using industry-standard tools.
• Validate firmware releases and support deployment readiness activities.
• Configure, instrument, and maintain server platforms for validation and troubleshooting.
• Analyze logs, packet captures, and system telemetry to identify root causes and propose solutions.
• Collaborate with engineering teams, customers, and partners to drive issue resolution.
• Document findings and contribute to application notes and validation procedures.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts to improve validation efficiency and data collection.

Immediate need for a talented Software Engineer: Networking Development - II. This is a 06+months contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in Hillsboro, OR(Onsite).

Pay Range: $35/hr - $42/hour. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).

Key Responsibilities

• Reproduce, triage, and root-cause customer-reported issues related to Ethernet solutions.
• Debug software, firmware, and platform-level issues in a laboratory environment using industry-standard debug tools.
• Validate firmware releases and support deployment readiness activities.
• Configure, instrument, and maintain server platforms for validation and troubleshooting.
• Analyze logs, packet captures, and system telemetry to identify root causes and recommend solutions.
• Collaborate with engineering teams, customers, and ecosystem partners to drive issue resolution.
• Document findings and contribute to application notes, design guides, and validation procedures.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts to improve validation efficiency and data collection.

Key Requirements and Technology Experience

• 3+ years of experience in networking, validation, system integration, firmware, or platform engineering.
• Strong understanding of Ethernet technologies and networking fundamentals (OSI Layers 1-4).
• Experience with 10G, 25G, 50G, 100G, and 200G Ethernet environments.
• Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting experience.
• Experience with Git and Jira.
• Basic scripting skills using Python and/or Bash.
• Associate degree; bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
• Familiarity with DPDK, SR-IOV, and RDMA technologies.
• Experience supporting customer platform enablement or technical account activities.
