Qualifications

• 2 years relevant experience with Bachelor's in related field; 0 years with Master's in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience.
• Ability to obtain related technical certifications; Security+ and Linux.
• U.S. Citizen able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance; on-site support as required.
• Strong proficiency in Java and object-oriented design and development.
• Experience developing multi-threaded applications.
• Proficiency with Java IDEs (IntelliJ, Eclipse) and Java debugging tools.
• Development experience in Linux/Unix environments; shell scripting for automation.
• Source control proficiency with Git.
• Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to work effectively on cross-functional teams.
• JavaScript development and modern UI frameworks (e.g., Sencha ExtJS, Vue.js).
• Unit testing (e.g., JUnit) and Agile development practices.
• Systems Engineering familiarity; integration with LVC simulation architectures (e.g., TENA, HLA, DIS).
• Build systems and messaging frameworks (Gradle, Apache ActiveMQ), OSGi, CSS/HTML, CI/CD and code quality tools (Jenkins, SonarQube).
• Secure coding practices aligned to DISA ASD STIG; role/user-based permissions design; database development.
• C/C++ experience and familiarity with C4I systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, document, test, and debug applications and systems with logical/mathematical solutions.
• Collaborate with designers and hardware engineers to plan and develop electronic data processing systems.
• Analyze user needs and system capabilities to resolve program intent and controls; prepare operating instructions.
• Develop compilers/assemblers and utility programs; ensure software standards are met.
• Contribute to milestones and follow established procedures under supervision.
• Support software infrastructure improvements and participate in proposals, reports, manuals.
• Deliver robust, maintainable software for JSAF by liaising with program leadership and end users.
• Develop, enhance, integrate, and support JSAF features with a team of developers and SMEs.
• Develop on Red Hat Linux 7/8/9 using IDEs; implement in Java/JavaScript (Sencha ExtJS, Vue.js); use shell scripting and Git.
• Assist in preparing briefs, project plans, system manuals, technical reports, and user documentation.
