Job summary

Uncover is hiring a Software Engineer for the Otter Customer Lifecycle team in Mountain View. You will build the platform that defines what a restaurant is in our product and the services that move merchants from signup to delivering orders.

You will own core services end-to-end, from data models to deployment, focusing on reliability, performance, and scalable onboarding experiences that support growth for merchants worldwide.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Java or Go for backend services.
• Strong foundation in distributed systems and API design.
• Experience with PostgreSQL/CockroachDB and performant queries.
• Experience designing data models and core domain objects.
• Experience operating services in production and collaborating cross-functionally.
• Nice to have Temporal, Cadence or Kafka experience.
• Experience with API modernization or migrating away from legacy stacks.

Responsibilities

• Build and own the merchant platform: core services and data models for stores/brands.
• Design onboarding services to take a restaurant from signup to live.
• Develop backend for self-serve growth: signup, activation, conversion.
• Design offboarding and lifecycle cleanup to shut down merchant systems cleanly.
• Own services end-to-end: design, build, instrument, debug, and improve reliability.
