Job summary

Atoms is seeking a Software Engineer for the Otter Customer Lifecycle team in Mountain View. You will build the core merchant platform and services that move restaurants from signup to serving orders, owning features end-to-end.

We value ownership and want engineers who can take ideas to production with a product-focused mindset. The role is onsite in Mountain View with strong comp and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Java or Go and writing production backend services.
• Strong foundation in distributed systems, microservices, and API design.
• Experience with databases (PostgreSQL/CockroachDB) and writing performant queries.
• Experience designing data models and core domain objects.
• Production operations experience and a collaborative, product-minded approach.

Responsibilities

• Build and own the merchant platform: the core services and data models behind stores, facilities, brands, and the entitlement-driven configuration.
• Design onboarding services to bring a restaurant from signup to live and serving orders.
• Build the backend for self-serve growth — signup, activation, and conversion flows.
• Design offboarding and lifecycle cleanup so that merchant exits are handled cleanly.
• Own services end-to-end: design, build, instrument, debug, and improve reliability.
