Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience.
• 2+ years directly managing engineers.
• Healthcare technology experience including Epic, HL7, FHIR, patient access or revenue cycle workflows.
• Strong hands-on depth with AI/ML solutions in production.
• Proficiency in Python and experience with Java, TypeScript or Go.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, deployment and operation of AI-enabled healthcare applications.
• Coach engineers while maintaining hands-on technical contribution.
• Guide architecture decisions across Azure, backend services and healthcare integrations.

This role combines direct people management with hands-on engineering, using Azure and modern software development practices to build secure, production-ready applications.

• Strong hands-on technical depth and experience delivering AI or machine learning solutions into production.
• Proficiency in Python and experience with at least one of Java, TypeScript or Go.
• Experience with CI/CD, infrastructure as code and DevOps practices.
• Experience building and operating solutions in a HIPAA-regulated environment.
• Experience leading agile delivery and using metrics to track progress and improve team performance.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work onsite in Charlotte three days per week and attend an in-person interview.

Preferred experience: Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Foundry, agent orchestration frameworks, contact center platforms, IVR, conversational AI or patient messaging platforms.
