Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field.
• 2+ years of engineering management experience leading remote or hybrid teams.
• 5+ years hands-on software development with progression into leadership.
• Experience in U.S. healthcare tech including EHR integrations and regulatory compliance.
• Microservices architecture, distributed systems, cloud-native tech like Docker, Kubernetes, AWS.
• Flutter mobile development familiarity and secure software practices.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our engineering teams. This is a hands‑on leadership role focused on growing and supporting a team of engineers to develop secure, scalable microservices and mobile/web solutions for our healthcare platform. The ideal candidate will bring deep engineering expertise, strong people management skills, and a passion for driving technical execution in a mission‑driven startup environment. This position reports to the VP of Engineering and offers significant opportunity to influence product strategy and engineering excellence.

Work Setting

This is a full‑time hybrid position based in West Virginia, with onsite presence as per the schedule proposed by the manager. Candidates should expect regular in‑person collaboration, and occasional travel (up to 15%) may be required across West Virginia, California, and New York for customer site visits, team off‑sites, or relevant industry events.

Responsibilities

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field
• 2+ years of engineering management experience leading remote or hybrid teams
• 5+ years of hands‑on software development experience with clear progression into technical leadership roles
• Experience in the U.S. healthcare technology sector, including EHR system integrations and regulatory compliance
• Expertise in microservices architecture, distributed systems, and cloud‑native technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, AWS)
• Familiarity with mobile development using Flutter and an understanding of secure software development practices

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building and maintaining HIPAA compliant systems and solutions
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows
• Background in implementing audit logging and data encryption protocols
• Fluency in agile delivery methods and cross‑functional stakeholder management
• Ability to coach and scale high‑performing engineering teams
• Strong emotional intelligence and systems thinking for team leadership and architecture
• Experience working with connected health devices or Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) systems

Compensation

Total compensation for this role is expected to fall within the range of **$130,000 to $180,000 annually**, depending on experience, qualifications, and alignment with the responsibilities outlined. Additional equity and performance‑based incentives may be available.
