Job summary

Lockheed Martin Space is hiring for a software-focused engineer to design, develop, test, and deploy mission-critical software in a cloud-enabled environment. You will work within an agile team, utilize containers, and participate in continuous delivery practices to accelerate space-domain capabilities.

The role requires strong collaboration, effective communication, and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced, secure environment with access to state-of-the-art tools and platforms.

Qualifications

• Development experience with Java as a core language.
• Experience with containerization (Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, Containerd) in a cloud environment (AWS/Azure/OpenStack/OpenShift).
• Experience in an Agile development environment using JIRA and Confluence.
• Experience with CI/CD including deployment pipelines and automated tooling.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI clearance.

The information below reflects the standard job description for this position:

Plans, conducts, and coordinates software development activities. Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment. Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle. Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software. Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. Ensures software standards are met.

Basic Qualifications

• Development experience with any of the following programming languages: Java
• Experience with application containerization (Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, Containerd) in a cloud environment (AWS, Azure, OpenStack, OpenShift)
• Experience working in an Agile development environment, using tools such as JIRA and Confluence
• Experience with CI/CD - Deployment pipelines, automated build, and configuration tools
• Must be a US Citizen; Must be able to obtain a Top Secret security clearance and a SCI . This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

• Development experience with Linux and shell scripting (e.g., bash, ash, ksh)

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $81100.00 - $150500.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
